The TF1 group condemns the contempt shown by the Canal + group for
its subscribers by its unilateral decision to suspend distribution of the
TF1 group’s channels and add-on services.

The TF1 group is scandalised by the Canal + group’s unilateral decision to deprive its subscribers of the TF1, TMC, TFX, TF1 Séries Films and LCI channels, and the MYTF1 service.

The decision is all the more incomprehensible in that the Canal + group is authorised to distribute them, since the TF1 group has never insisted that its channels and catch-up service be suspended, but rather has offered further negotiations.

The TF1 group deplores the fact that Canal + group customers, who are paying to receive TF1, TMC, TFX, TF1 Séries Films, LCI and MyTF1 as part of their subscription, are being held to ransom.

The TF1 group urges the Canal + group to take account of the legitimate interests of its CANAL and TNT SAT subscribers.

The Group would remind viewers that they can watch these channels live and in catch-up on MYTF1.fr and via the MyTF1 app on mobiles and tablets. The channels are still available on digital terrestrial TV and via other distributors.

The TF1 group broadcasts its programmes free of charge across the whole of French territory on the State-owned national frequencies (digital terrestrial TV).

It is the Canal + group that decided to sell its subscribers access to the TF1 group’s channels by charging them a subscription, instead of allowing them free access. That is why the TF1 group is demanding a fee from the Canal + group, which is only reasonable.
