TF1 and LCI launch the Patrick Bourrat Grand Prize

TF1 and LCI are launching the Patrick Bourrat Grand Prize*, a competition open to students from 13 schools of journalism recognised by the profession.
The event will be held between 21 and 31 May on the premises of TF1.

Candidates will compete in several events: voice-over to pictures, live, field reports, etc.
Following the selection stages, the best two editors and best two video journalists will receive fixed-term contracts with TF1 and LCI.

Catherine Nayl, Managing Director, News and Information with the TF1 group: "This prize carries the name of Patrick Bourrat, a journalist whose main aim was to pass on news and information to others: in first-hand reports, and in his experience too. And we wanted our prize to reflect these values…" 

Antoine Guélaud, Editor-in-Chief, TF1: "Until 2003, TF1 organised the TF1 Reportage Prize and Francis Bouygues Prize every year, to identify the most promising young journalists. It recruited many journalists through this prize. It seemed natural for the TF1 Group, to once again have a prize, based on merit." 

Laurent Drezner, Editor-in-Chief, LCI: "First and foremost, it’s an opportunity to recruit the most talented students and give them the opportunity to join a leading medium."

*Patrick Bourrat, leading reporter with TF1, died on 22 December 2002 in Kuwait,
in the exercise of his work.
