Editorial

"The TF1 group has an acceleration program, the TF1 Media Lab, which has embodied the Media theme at Station F since 2018. This program has already supported more than 40 start-ups, whose collaboration has been aimed at experimenting and industrializing, within our environments, innovative solutions and services in line with new market practices and changing business needs. The six-month program provides start-ups with material, operational and strategic support from TF1 experts and business sponsors. The TF1 Media Lab thus symbolizes the Group's strong commitment to the new generation of entrepreneurs."

How it works

EXPERTISE

We have a team of specialist experts to help move collaborations forward. Each start-up has an operational sponsor tasked with bringing the joint project to fruition. Technical experts then take over to test, integrate and industrialise the solutions.

COACHING

We partner with Roland Berger Digital Ventures and the RAISE investment fund to provide coaching support to help start-ups meet the challenges of developing their venture (business strategy, fund-raising, product roadmap, etc).

RESSOURCES

We also provide practical help: free office space for six months, dedicated budgets, access to our technical resources and data, advice on media strategy, and access to our client/partner networks.

Program alumni

As part of its transformation, the TF1 group was keen to kick-start a dynamic open innovation collaboration with the startup ecosystem. Over the last 4 years, we have supported 48 startups, which have benefited from:

  • Support from an in-house sponsor, and close ongoing collaboration
  • Station F's infrastructures and innovation-friendly environment
  • Excellent PR and media visibility

EPOPIA

EPOPIA: Imagine that one morning, your child finds in her mailbox a letter from people in a far-off land who are in big trouble. Their letters ask her for help: they have decisions to make, things to do, puzzles to solve.

Your child has to reply in writing and say what she has decided. She, and no-one else, determines what happens next.
As letter follows letter, your child becomes involved in a proper exchange of correspondence  – and not just reading and writing, but taking part in a great adventure.

MIRRIAD

MIRRIAD: Uses artificial intelligence to identify the ideal positioning for virtual product placement within video content (in a bus shelter, on a table, at the roadside, etc). The technology allows products to be dropped in after shooting, which means that product placement no longer has to be planned well in advance. Mirriad’s solution is already being used on the TF1 drama Demain Nous Appartient.

TICTALES

TICTALES: Creates narrative stories for mobiles in which the reader is the hero. As in Bandersnatch, you make decisions that dictate where the story goes next. Based on a dozen or so Japanese-influenced historical romances, Tictales is aimed at the B2C market (90% women) and has already engaged millions of readers on its apps.
The business model relies on in-app purchases and advertising.

YUZZITPRO

YUZZITPRO: An SaaS solution enabling users to edit and publish videos on all social networks. With Yuzzitpro, users can clip, customise and subtitle video content and then publish it across different networks from a single interface, with a broad range of options such as editorialisation, tagging, and geoblocking. The USP: Yuzzitpro works not just with uploaded content,  but also with live content sourced directly from a channel’s output.

ASKR.AI

ASKR.AI: How can businesses cope with the exponential growth of data? Spotting trends is more difficult and time-consuming than ever. AskR.ai has the answer. Their platform uses artificial intelligence and chatbot technology to make clients’ data speak to them. The USP: askR.ai doesn’t just generate data instantly, it can also present the data in the format clients need, such as bar charts or line charts.

SNATCH STUDIO

SNATCH STUDIO: Harnesses artificial intelligence to make video “responsive”. Snatch  technology automatically detects the most important parts of a video, and adapts the format to match the device on which it is used.
In practice, it means that 16/9 content can be automatically verticalised to adapt it for viewing on mobile phones.
