The TF1 Group supports the European national Safer Internet Day campaign

On February 7, across 30 countries, Europe is taking action to bring the European Commission’s “Safer Internet” program to young people, their parents, teachers and educators, promoting a safer and more responsible internet and more diverse and creative ways to use digital.
 
In line with this action, TF1 has begun a partnership with France’s “Respect Zone” initiative, and LCI already broadcast the project’s communications campaign in early 2016.
 
Respect Zone, a non-profit, apolitical and non-religious association, works to foster respect on the internet. It promotes a special “Respect Zone” label, a positive, ethical symbol that an entity can use to “display its intention to respect others”.
 
Becoming an official “Respect Zone” also entails a pledge, and the association has designed a bouclier anti-haine (“hate shield”) for kids to download on Chrome and a plug-in available at Wordpress.
 
On February 7, the Respect Zone association will host guest speakers to promote this campaign, and a number of cities will announce their decision to adopt “Respect Zone” status.
 
On that same day, the 1 O’clock news will carry a story on the Respect Zone label, filming at a Vendée secondary school that has adopted the status, with testimonial from the founder, a high school student in Paris.
 
The various technical and editorial managers of TF1’s websites and social networks will have a chance to meet with the association’s leaders and determine what joint initiatives could be pursued.
 
This partnership with Respect Zone, made possible by the Group’s CSR department and sponsored by Sébastien Frapier, General Counsel, provides a solution to the new social challenges generated by the Group’s digital transformation.
