The TF1 Foundation honored for its innovative recruitment and social integration program

The 10th annual Trophées de la Diversité awards, an event organized by Diversity Conseil, a Paris HR consulting firm, honored the TF1 Foundation for its innovative approach to social and professional integration of young people from challenged neighborhoods.

Every year since 2008, the TF1 Foundation has hosted a “class” composed of twelve young people from underprivileged neighborhoods targeted by the Ministry of Urban Affairs’ proactive policy. Over a period of two years, these individuals receive vocational training within the Group. The TF1 Foundation’s approach encompasses uncharacteristic profiles, focusing more on the young people’s personalities, through creation of a video resume.

Candidates apply by posting their video resume on Wat.tv. The young people selected are invited to a day of interviews and a number of workshops: makeup tips, guidance session with a stylist, and coaching in the three-minute personal presentation. The chosen candidates then begin their work at TF1 and are sponsored by employees throughout the two years.

“I went to an audiovisual school, so I really had fun making my video CV. When I applied for the TF1 Foundation program to be a Journaliste Reporter d’image (TV Reporter), I was going through the competitive entrance exams for journalism schools. A video, unlike written tests, was my chance to make a real impression!”

“I applied two years ago and got as far as the interviews, but wasn’t chosen. I decided to challenge destiny and try my luck again this year. To my delight, I was picked this time and I’m now part of the TF1 Foundation’s eighth class. Everyone deserves a second chance.”

A few days later, I got a call from Samira Djouadi, Director of the TF1 Foundation. I’d been selected! It’s an incredible opportunity to be a part of TF1; it’s a springboard for my career. I’ll be making the most of these two years, learning as much as I can and developing my skills.”
