TF1 group to carry exclusive free-to-air coverage of the final of the IHF 2017™ World Handball Championship in Paris on January 29


The TF1 group will screen the quarter-final and semi-final matches involving the French national team, if they qualify.
 

The TF1 group will screen the quarter-final, the semi-final and the final of the IHF 2017™ Women’s World Handball Championship in Germany in December if France qualify.


 

The TF1 group is delighted to announce the acquisition of a bundle of rights for the next two major handball tournaments: the IHF 2017™ World Championships. This deal is a further affirmation of the Group’s ambition to broadcast the world’s top sporting events across all of its media.

 

25th Men’s World Handball Championship IHF 2017™, the biggest sporting event to be held in France in 2017

This major competition will be held in France from January 11 to January 29, 2017, and promises to be one of the stand-out events at the start of the new year. It could see the French national team score one of the greatest-ever achievements in the country’s sporting history, with the opportunity to add a fifth world title to those won in 2015, 2011, 2009 and 2001) and the two Olympic golds won in 2008 and 2012.

The TF1 group will screen exclusive, free-to-air coverage of the final at 5.30 pm on Sunday, January 29, and will screen the quarter-final and semi-final matches involving the French national team,  if they qualify.
 

23rd Women’s World Handball Championship IHF 2017™, hosted by Germany

This competition will be held in Germany from December 1 to December 17, 2017. The TF1 group has acquired the rights to broadcast exclusive, free-to-air coverage of matches involving the French national team in the event that they qualify for the quarter-finals, the semi-finals and the final.

These acquisitions mean that we can offer viewers free coverage of major sporting events that will excite and unite the nation.”
