Nadège, Management control assistant at the audiovisual rights acquisitions and distribution department (TF1 Droits audiovisuels)

Master 1 in Management Control at Université Paris Dauphine

As part of my Master 1 work-study programme, I’m working as a management control assistant at the TF1 Droits Audiovisuels subsidiary.

For new and old films alike, I work on rights holder management, in other words making sure that the subsidiary pays the commissions to the relevant rights holders. I also work on contract management for films broadcast on TV and sold as DVDs. My other assignments include monitoring budgets, rolling out procedures and documentation, and adding to the film catalogue.

A rewarding professional experience

Work-study programmes are an interesting way to learn. In addition to my classroom work, I am benefitting from a rewarding professional experience.

My arrival at TF1 Droits Audiovisuels went incredibly smoothly. It’s a human-sized subsidiary and you get to dialogue with all the functions, including sales, legal and technical. My contacts are there when I need them. I’m in regular contact with my line management, which makes sure that everything’s going well and that my assignments correspond to my degree.

This has been a very positive experience, one in which I’ve learned a great deal about the film and television sectors and deepened my knowledge of management control, the sector in which I want to pursue my career.
