TF1 and HR

A corporate citizen

TF1's position as a major group and Europe's leading television channel brings with it a serious responsibility. The group is proud to express its values both through a far-reaching policy covering the company and TV channel and through the personal commitment of its employees.

A TV channel that aims to reflect the diversity of french society

As France's most popular TV channel, TF1 is duty-bound to represent the diversity of its home country, both on screen and on the job. That is why the group pursues an active policy to prevent discrimination and promote equal opportunities. Among other things, it has set up the TF1 Foundation, Mission Action Handicap (see below), the Diversity Committee, an agreement equality men women and an agreement covering older members of staff. It also applies a dynamic policy for responsible purchasing.

A seal of approval for TF1

TF1 was awarded the Diversity Label on Tuesday 14 December 2010, becoming the first media group to receive this prized distinction. Commenting, TF1 Chairman and Chief Executive Nonce Paolini said, "This is more than just an award; it's a turning point in the group's commitment to diversity. We are very proud of this distinction, which serves to promote diversity and prevent discrimination in companies. It sets a demanding framework for taking the company's responsibilities and commitments to new heights."

The group applied for the Diversity Label after signing the Diversity Charter on 11 January 2010. To qualify for accreditation, all the group’s managers and employees had to vouch for its exemplary role in preventing discrimination and promoting equal opportunities and diversity on its channels and in its human resources management policy.

Initiatives for the disabled

TF1 has for several years pursued a policy to promote the professional integration of people with disabilities. The policy is focused on four objectives: hiring, keeping people in work, working with the sheltered sector and raising staff awareness about disabled employees. The creation of the disability taskforce Mission Actions Handicap in December 2007 marked the first stage in our commitment to improve the integration of disabled people in the company. Taking these efforts forward, in 2008 the company signed a three-year group agreement on hiring disabled people and keeping them on the workforce. The agreement was renewed in 2011.

Today more than 69 people with disabilities work at the TF1 group. In addition, services outsourced to sheltered-sector workshops represented revenue of €319,000 in 2011, exceeding the €250,000 target set out in the group agreement.

The TF1 group regularly calls on the sheltered sector, where organisations provide productive activity and medical and social support for disabled adults, enabling them to provide services. Activities outsourced by TF1 include enveloping the in-house magazine, recycling IT equipment and preparing mail shots for competitions.
