TF1 is fully committed to promoting equal opportunities at the company and the channel, for visible minorities, seniors, people with disabilities, and women alike.
At a local open day in Lyon focused on the topic of diversity in the media, the TF1 Group, represented by Edouard Boccon-Gibod, Chairman of the TF1 Group’s Diversity Committee and Chairman of Météo France, talked about this priority issue. Also in attendance were Ali Kismoune, Chairman of the Rhône-Alpes Diversity Club, and Jeannette Bougrab, Secretary of State in charge of youth and community life.
On 13 December 2010, the TF1 group of companies was awarded the Diversity Label*. According to Nonce Paolini, Chairman and Chief Executive of TF1 group, "This is more than a reward, it's a turning point in the group's commitment to diversity. We are very proud of this label, which serves to promote diversity and prevent discrimination in companies. It sets a demanding framework for taking the company's responsibilities and commitment in this area to new heights."
The group applied for the Diversity Label after signing the Diversity Charter on 11 January 2010. To obtain that qualification, the management and employees vouched for the group's exemplary role in preventing discrimination and promoting equal treatment and diversity on its channels and in its human resources management.
In doing this, TF1 has committed itself to promoting professional gender equality, the careers of seniors, further developing the policy of integrating young people of different ethnic, cultural and social backgrounds, and extending the agreement to promote the employment of disabled people.
In broadcasting, TF1 group has always been a forerunner in promoting diversity in all its programmes. Obtaining the Label is part of our corporate environmental and social responsibility (CESR) policy, which groups together all the actions led by the Diversity Committee to ensure that the company reflects society as a whole. These include the Solidarity Committee, which assists with the major causes of the non-profit organisations, Mission Actions Handicap, which endeavours to recognize disability and TF1 Corporate Foundation, which promotes the integration of talented young people in difficult situations.
